Dr. Fukayama and Tanahashi participated in the 58th Conference of the Japanese Society of Cultural Anthropology
The 58th Conference of the Japanese Society of Cultural Anthropology was held on 15-16 June at Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus, with Dr. Fukayama and Dr.Tanahashi participating. On 1 April, the society released the "Statement of the Japanese Society of Cultural Anthropology and the Society on Ainu Studies"(日本文化人類学会とは (jasca.org) ). Not long afterwards, it was of great significance that the research conference was held in Hokkaido, where the indigenous Ainu people have lived. During the conference, the host school organised a 'Comprehensive Workshop on Indigenous Culture: Walking, Eating and Talking with the Ainu in Hokkaido'. The photograph shows a kerapirika lunch box filled with Ainu ingredients and dishes, which was served during one of these workshops, 'Eating with the Ainu in Hokkaido'. It was delicious and the stories we heard while eating were enriching.
